Subject: changeable fuel filter IP: Logged
Message: hey guys,
does any one know on a '00 w/a 4.7 has a
changeable fuel filter? I have noticed in the
maintenance manual it never calls for replacement.

Message: There is no serviceable fuel filter for your truck. The filter is actually located inside your tank and is part of the electronic fuel pump set up. You can not change or service it.

Message: Actually there is two filters. One is on top of the tank and the other is inside. They both are considered nonserviceable, but they can be replaced with out replaceing the pump or float assembly. I plan on changing mine at 100K miles....that is if this truck makes it that long.

Message: Only, it really SHOULD have a replaceable filter. My injectors were horribly plugged up at only 45K miles. I'm considering installing a canister filter in the fuel line under the truck to stop this from happening again.
