Subject: misfire :( IP: Logged
Message: p0308 misfire code cylinder 8
i swapped manifolds, swapped back, and each time the engine was running rough. i am back to the original manifold so you would think it would be back to normal but i've got a horrible shudder now. in the swap what could have caused such a shudder. my mechanic did the first manifold and said the ho manifold had built in intake gasket. so there is no gasket but on either time. hope vacumn seal is not an issue. would misfire cause such a violent shudder and horrible gas reading on overhead console. how do i fix??

Message: I'm assuming that you're talking about a 4.7L V8 since you mentioned HO intake? Did you check the connector for the #8 coil? Do you have a vacuum gauge? If so, get a reading with the engine running. If the vacuum is relatively steady, you have a fuel or ignition problem. If you see the needle swing a lot, you have a more serious internal problem. Since this problem started after swapping intake manifolds, I'd suspect a connector for the fuel injector or coil. Good luck!
