Message: I belive most supercharger units are built to work with stock oem engine and powertrain. I dont think you will have a problem. I would send a email to powerdyne and ask them though i am no expert.

Message: If you are running a Powerdyne blower, I'd be more concerned about blowing that than a head gasket. I've heard nothing good about their durability.

Message: Don't know what good 6 24lb injectors are goin to do you on a V-8. As long as you keep it from detonating, you shoudl never blow a head gasket with the Powerdyne 6# pulley since it really will only give you about 4lbs of boost on a R/T.

Message: I have a 00 CC R/T with a Powerdyne at 6# and my head gasket is blown. I'm upgrading my injectors and installing a bypass valve for the s/c. Your biggest worry will be the pinging under power. Thats what blows headgaskets. And sudden shock of pressure from letting off the gas without a bypass valve. Powerdyne says that it's not needed with a 6# but is recomended.
I hope this might help

Message: Ive gone through two sets of head gaskets now, and have finally learned. My list which seems to work great. btm(must, do not avoid this one) 24# injectors, bigger air filter, coil, and a 160 thermo fel-pro headgaskets along with arp head bolts. I also have higher flowing exhaust, but that doesnt matter on detonation. as far as only getting 4 pounds, I have been able to reach 6 1/2 at the end of each gear. and the blower seems to be holding up great. If you have and questions feel free to ask or email, I klnow all about this stuff now. And when you do blow them, you will notice its always in the same spot on the inner two cylinders and water jacket closest to the chamber.

Message: pinging and detonating are the same thing, and are caused by lack of fuel, or running lean. Let it have enough fuel and you will probably never blow a head gasket with the powerdyne. A blowoff valve as mentioned will help as well.
The info I posted about boost pressure is just what I have heard before. I guess Powerdyne has fixed thier kit to produce the actual numbers advertised now.

Message: Controlling Fuel and Timing are required with Super/Turbocharger applications and Nitrous. I've installed and physically seen several Dakota's running the Powerdyne (including myself) for well over a year without any problems. You'll run into problems if you "overboost" them (custom/smaller pulleys).
With 6# boost, you should be ok but keep an eye on the head gaskets and belly-pan gasket.

Message: Listen to drtswinger he has discovered the hard way that you will need the 24# injectors. I had pinging problem with mine and called up Sam at powerdyne he said to use the Motorsport(FRPP) 24# injectors and that would take care of the problem. Well I am happy to say that it has been a little over 4 months with no problems. Hope this helps.

Message: Mike, I apologized for sayin the Powerdyne only made 4lbs, but when it first came out, the most a majority of the Dakota's woudl get with the 6# pulley was 4.5#s. Obviously Powerdyne has corrected this so I retracted my earlier statement. Please read all the posts before replying.

Message: Mike you can try calling your local ford dealer and see if they can find two injectors for you. You could also try and find a f-350 with a 460, a lincoln Mark VIII or linoln navigator in a junk yard and get two injectors. I got set used out of a Mark VIII.

Message: Mike, i had my powerdyne on for about a year before the head gaskets blew. I am running the 24# injectors also. As long as you find a good spot with the timing you shouldn't get any detonation. You may still blow the head gaskets because they are weak. Brian was correct by saying that some of them only made about 4lbs boost. When i first installed mine it only made 4.5lbs. I beleive it has something to do with the crank pulley diameter on the trucks. I think dodge changed the dia. slightly in 00 and the trucks were able to make the advertised boost. I have had mine on for about 2 years now with no problems, and have turned many mid 12 second passes with it with no problems from the blower. Take Care.

Message: I have 6 24# injectors, they come stock in a Taurus SHO. Good luck finding them in a parts yard tho, most of the engines get yanked fast. If anybody has 2 extra injectors I am in need of them. Thanks, Grady.

Message: On the injectors:
Design-II are used on the 92-99 models and Design-III on the '00+ models. Do not try to run the Design-III on the older models as they will not work properly (will idle fine though).
Purchasing the injectors from the Ford dealer will cost you quite a bit of money...more than they're worth. Contact Bruce Holt at: http://www.fiveomotorsports.com as he's got the 24# Injectors for the 00+ models.
