Subject: Tickin' IP: Logged
Message: When I accelerate I have a ticking noise in the engine. It doesn't sound like a knock but this ticking stops when I get to full speed?????

Message: Don't know what engine you have, but my 5.2 has the same issue. It really isn't anything to worry about, it is just an attribute of these engines. You could get the PCM flashed to fix the timing, but it will just revert back after a while. Some things you can check however are plugs, rotor, dist cap, and check you intake to see if you belly pan is blown. It can be a source of the problem.

Message: My 4.7 had an annoying tick through first gear...it was an exhaust leak, manifold bolts were all loose.

Message: Ever think about checking the injectors, if they are ticking then that means there working properly at idle.
