Message: have an exhaust shop run pipes up and over
the frame and exit before the rear tyre. Only
one side exits since clearing that driveshaft ia
a problem. hope its on the pass side its loud.

Message: I made it. I can get you the pipe, you buy the
filter. Its just a k&N 9 inch cone with 3"mouth.
search the homemade threads i explain how
to build it in detail; there. minimum cost ,
maximum performance. Hehehe

Message: YES! I've always wanted to slap on some side pipes like the old vettes had. Those look sweet. I've heard all the clearance coments,,but I wanna believe!!!!!
It would be nice if that new Cervini's Sniper dakota body kit had both side skirts w/functional exhaust!

Message: I love the side pipes too. Very loud on a reg
cab! as for those, you will have to have your
mechanic cut exhaust to just after cat. install a
mid pipe angled up (length depends on
muffler and truck cab configuration.)
Then route the two pipes over the fram just
before the rear tyre. I had enough room to run
2.5" pipes. you can ten decide how to angle
your cut, either straight out or slashed like me.
Material cost me 30 bucks (already had the
muffler) and labour was 160. These are
Canadian prices. There are alot of bends and
patience spent to get it right.
As for the grille install, i copied darkfury and
his gutter guard model. My 01 set up was a
little different but it worked out all the same.
There are several Threads on this install as
well as darkfury's website.
Glad you like the mods boys.

I really think they're called LAKERS, I remember them well (still have a scar on my calf from some). It shouldn't be to hard to run them, and if you do it right, you will run them under the inner fender, just over the A-frame and frame. You may have to build a custom header to do it (How to build your own headers), but it would really look and sound tough (till you put your leg against it on a 100 deg summer day after 20 min on the highway).
I have thought about doing this myself but don't want no more scars, and my wife is only 4'10" and has a hard time getting in and out without LAKERS in the way.

HA,HA,HA,HA, you are looking at the picture of his set up. Thats a case of boredem and photoshop. I remember when he did that and pointed it out to Lesley.

Message: I got a quote on Sar for doing the side exit on my 2000 4.7 CC.
I am getting my own muffler (at cost) and they are going to go up and over the frame, down and out. They will be using 2 pieces, welded at the top .. as they don't have a mandrel bender. The there is a 3x3 exit they are going to use as an exit.
When finished I'll get pics, this is at a local Meineke shop.. cost is $150cdn , excluding the tip and muffler.
All other welding/hardware required will be included in the $150 CDN.

Message: I am working on the same thing for my GEN II.
My plans are as follows:
Get two cable operated dumps ( JC JIPME )I mean JC WHITNEY,
Chrome stacks ( I am using 5" with turn outs ) and 90 Deg. chrome elbows,
and all the mounting hardware to put the stacks down the side of your truck.
Install the dumps as close to the exhaust manifolds as possible. Run the dumps out right behind the front tires and connect them to the 90 Deg. elbows which will be connected to the chrome stacks mounted down the sides of the truck.
This kind of set up you can run two exhaust systems on your truck.
One going out the back for going through the sniffer test and being leagl, and the other for going down the interstate and not bad on looks.
