Message: I'm having dificulty with my Transmission, I don't really know whats wrong with it. I have a 5.2 l V8, '99 Dakota, and it shifts fine until I get up to 35 MPH, at which point it starts to rev up instead of shifting. It goes inbetween 3500 and 4000 RPM's before it shifts, and I'm afraid it's starting to damage my Engine. My best Guess is a stuck valve in the Valve body, but I can't get ahold of any Diagrams for overhauling it, as I don't know exactly which Transmission model I have in my Truck. Any help?

Message: The Check Engine Light does come on Sometimes, but only when I Idle. For some reason, the Oil Sensor Gage drops to 0, and then the Check Engine Light bings, and then the Gage goes back to Normal. It's really weird, and that's bugging me too, but I doubt that has a connection.
And any Help finding the Specifications on the Valve Body and Transmision Model would be Helpful, as I am about a month and a half away from Getting Certified on Automatic Transmission Repair, and would prefer to tackle this problem myself.

Message: I hate to tell you this but I believe it is your forward clutch pack seals have shrunk. It is a problem with the late 90's to 2001 trucks. I have overhauled numerous ones and I have never seen a shift valve hang up and cause the problem you have.
There is one shade tree fix I have seen to buy you some time, add 1/2 of pint of brake fluid and it will swell the seal to allow it to engage. but this is only a tempory thing. The damage is already done to the clutch pack and it will need to get new clutchs and seals.
Good luck.
