Subject: Where to buy TPS sensor for 4.7 IP: Logged
Message: I think that I have a flaky TPS sensor on my 03 Dak. I tested it with an analog meter and it had some funky fluctuations. I tried to find an internet store that carried the part, but was unable. I called the local dealer and got a quote from him. He said $75 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF, I thought they were in the neighborhood of $30-$35. Guess I'll check with a local parts store and see if they can get one.

Message: Daffydak, I'm wondering if your TPS sensor and the one on mine are the same part #? Think you could check it out for me?
That is more like what I thought they would cost. If it's that cheap, I'm gonna replace mine out-of-pocket. That'll keep the truck out of the shop and me on the road. Thanks in advance!

Message: you have an 03 4.7L right?
just go to www.autozone.com
and punch your truck in. it will remember your truck, and give you the specific part numbers/prices for your year.. then you will know what to expect in your local area.. I have 2 TPS sensors. one is modded, and one I use if/when i need dealer service :-) the modded one, was the one I had on my 98 3.9L dakota!! pretty neat huh.....

Message: @#*$, they changed the part number for 2003.
It's currently not available. Looks like I'll have to take it to the dealer after all. Ain't no way I'm payin $75 out of my own pocket when it's under warranty.
