Subject: Engine Rpm Drop IP: Logged
Message: 01 Quadcab 4x4, 4.7 auto. For the last week morning temps have been around 40. When I pull out of my driveway, as soon as I pull out of my driveway and let off the gas, the rpm will drop to 300-500 rpm then as fast as it went down come back up to 800 or whatever the idling rpm is while rolling. This will continue to happen anytime I let off the gas until it has been driven for about 10 minutes. This only happens during early morning startup when it is below 50. I am almost thinking that the torque converter is not "unlocking" fast enough. ANy help will greatly be appreciated.

Message: If your truck has done it since new, it sounds like a common "problem" that is fixed with a TSB pcm flash. If it just started to occur then I would try cleaning the iac or just unhook the battery and try reseting the pcm. Sometimes that helps.
