Subject: 2000 4.7 obdII code help !!!! IP: Logged
Message: hello all. I have a 2000 QC 4x4 4.7 auto. I have been having stalling troubles for a while now, and the check engine light finally came on. I pulled a code through the trip meter. The code is P1297. Any help on how I can fix this PIA problem would be greatly appreciated.

Message: P1297 (M)
No Change in MAP From Start To Run
No difference is recognized between the MAP reading at engine idle and the stored barometric pressure reading.

Message: I had the same problem and a new MAP sensor fixxed it. Does it run ok while your foot is on the gas?? Mine would only stall when i let off the gas coming to a stop light(or while idling). THe MAP sensor takes over for the TPS at that point. I have the kenne bell charger which relocated the MAP but on a stock 4.7 it is on the bottom of the intake manifold...... which will require taking it off i assume. The part is not expensive. Good luck.....

Message: Yep Razor, same thing. When I let off the gas, the RPM's would drop real quick and low, almost wanting to stall. Sometines it would. I had the MAP sensor replaced. I got a good feeling this is going to fix the stalling. Thanks god I was able to pull a code to help with this nagging problem. It seems to idle a bit higher also. It used to idle @500 RPM, now it's a tad over 600.
