Stopped at the local dodge dealership today. Checked out the new dakota up close. They have 3 extended cab, 2wds, all with the 4.7. The rear of the truck looks awsome and the interior is sweet looking. The frontend Im still not real crazy about but its growing on me, a sport package with body color grill and bumper will clean things up I belive. I was underneath lookin at various things when a salesman came out, he said 8 months till the HEMI. I asked if there was a regular cab in the plans but he didnt know yet. I cant wait for a SRT Dakota. But it will probaly be priced to high for me and most average people. O Well, What do you guys think?

Well we've all heard the rumors of a hemi dak... but since you've heard it from a salesman I guess the mystery is solved!! Hurray!!
What do I think? I think the '05 is about the ugliest truck out there :(
I remember back in the mid 80's, the Chevy short box 4x4 looked so nice due to the fact that it sat up nice and high... witht the front end up at the same level as the rear. The '05 Dak sits up in the rear (like the 2WD)... butt ugly.

Saw one on the street yesteday. Looked OK to me. The Hemi will not likely appear in the Dak., that's been covered here several dozen times. Wait and see, I guess.
No reg.cab, either. Same reason as the Hemi.

I myself do not like the truck. To sqaure for me.
I like the curves and lines of the '04 and down to the year it took a similar look of the ram pick-ups. They look like they made improvments on the front suspension and stiffened the frame. Interior looks nice. Like the fact you can now get the 260 horse 4.7. But for me, I'll keep my '02. Looks more stylish.

i think the taillight look hot, but the front end looks terrible, i am glad i picked my dakota up this year!
