I have a 97 5.2 Blue over silver, CC. I love it. I would never buy a V6 after having the V8. I love the torque and power. Just dont like the MPG!!! Any one eles, I would like some cheep mods that work good and imporve proformance

I have a 97 5.2 RC black. I have the K&N system, Gibson headers and exhaust. Overall it produced some good gains and it won't drain your wallet (depending on how big it is). Although, if I had to do it again I would have gone with a different exhaust system. The Gibson produced good low end power, but higher in the rpm range it runs out. I'm also installing the IAT adjuster when it gets to my house. Simple mods can do alot for these motors and there so popular that the prices have gone down since I've bought them.

I have a 98 5.2 SLT CC and with the K&N and dual exhaust, electric fan setup have gotten as much as 21 mpg highway...hauling butt too. Mine is black with a Snugtop bed cover, painted to match which I think really helps it cut through the air a lot better too.

1998 dakota 5.2l 4X4 flame red auto here. k&n filter in stock box ("ooohhh"..i can hear the enthusiasts now)anyways,
I dragged a 98 gt mustang (manual trans) got to 170 km/h (it was more than 1/4 mile) then we stopped racing (possible cop area) and we were neck and neck exactly! he said he couldn't believe he couldn't pull on me
And i have all the aerodynamics of a bread truck!!
p.s- i have no idea of km/hr where the canadian daks governor kicks in...im guessing it would be around the 170+ mark

97 RC auto 3.9's LSD. open air K&N, 1.7's, edelbrock headers, 180 tstat, flowmaster catback, IAT adjuster, accel coil, taylor wires, 3923's and Transgo shift kit. Oh yeah dodgezilla, mine hits the speedlimiter HARD at around 185-187 km/h.
Get 20 mpg if I can keep my foot out of it (which isn't very often!)

Got a 97 RC. Take a look at it in Pictures / Viewer's Rides / Album 13 - the one with the old style Mopar stripe on the back. I still wouldn't trade it for anything! GO Mopar!!

I've got a '99 5.2 xCab w/ bosch platinums, custom 3" intake w/ k&n filter, clear corners, and euro tails.. truck runs awesome, I love it. I will get 20-22 mpg on the highway on a good day.
The city is another story..... :P

I have a 97 Sport CC 5.2 and could not be happier with it. I have had it since it was new. Only a few mods but will have alot more this year. MSD ignition, coil, wires, cross drilled/slotted rotors, 180 TSTAT going in this week. Currently just have KNN FIPK and ASP pulleys. Have noticed increase in MPG with both MODS. Give me a few weeks of driving around and I will post the increase in MPG and any HP I have noticed with all the mods I have done. I noticed an increase with the KNN FIPK and another increase with the pulleys.

Hey, I've gotta 99 CC 4x4 sport with the 5.2, havn't done to many mods yet, i've done exhaust and filter, but i've put headlight and tailight covers, tint, a wiper cowl, and i've put one of those custom thunderform boxes under my back seat. But I'm getting ready to put one of those 4 1/2 inch truckin suspension lifts with some 34's and some new wheels, and maybe a ram air hood. but yeah i love my dakota, havn't had anyproblems with it, the only thing i dont like about it is that is has a bit of a drinkin problem its a gasaholic and that black is really hard to keep clean!!

I have a 99 cc 5.2 auto K&n homebrew Gibson dual exhaust Weather tech ventguards 3.92gears and winter and summer wheels. Plus little stuff like painted the door and t.gate handles same driftwood color as the truck also the trim around the speedo and stereo the same color like the P.T.cruisers and last but not least bed liner and flat topper black vinal top for now!!!!!

I've got a 99 extended cab Dakota Sport (white w/black accessories) with a 5.2 liter engine sitting in front of a 5-speed manual tranny. I can get rubber shifting into 4th. I have a factory Mopar cold air intake kit installed. It sounds sweet now but I will add dual exhaust and trying to find a hiperf ECU for a v-8 with a manual trans.

just wondering, why did you go with 24# injectors? did they help performance, and is it running rich? what do your plugs look like?
