Message: When modifying the stock beer barrel manifold, what is used to fill the plenum? I've looked at Hughes site and they say to fill the plenum to get better throttle response after you shorten and polish the runners. Thanks

Message: Usually the filling of the intake is to help increase manifold vacuum, for maintaining proper MAP signal and power booster vacuum after installing a high lift cam. I've heard of using JB weld ( is there anything it cant do?!?!) have a shop weld in a plate, or fill it with melted aluminum. You could also drill holes, tap them out and bolt in a metal plate, similar to the belly pan, but you have to be very careful to seal it all up so that it doesn't leak, and also to prevent dropping bolts that might get sucked into the engine, or weld in nuts to the plate and have the bolts come from the outside.

Message: So if you haven't put a cam in, you don't need to fill it. What if you have 1.7rr will you need to fill it then? Thanks
