Sponsors are good, but when the posts become 95% advertisement and 5% useful information, then the site becomes pointless and what good is a sponsor then? No one comes here just for the ads.

I think it would be a great idea to give the AMS Oil guy a section of this website to put permanent advertisement pages that hold the information that he repeatedly pastes into every post. That way instead of taking up 90% of the screen real estate with those repetitive posts, he can just interject into the discussion and say "You know AMSOil hjas just what you need. CLick here for more information on our products." or however he wants to sell it. That way the site users don't need to put up with all this repetitive advertising in every thread. They can follow the link to the ad page when they are insterested in reading about it.

I am not a customer of "the AMSoil guy" nor am I here to complain.
I admit that Steven's post are some what wordy, however, I have learned much by reading them and many other informative post.
I say let him post all he wants, if you don't want to read it then scroll past it, but do so at your peril. His post appear to me to be honest, fair and informative.

Right on Sleepy! I get really tired of that guys ramblings. Every post is the same..."Amsoil is the best, everything else sucks" That gets old really fast!! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the sponsor aspect, heck that's what is allowing me to post this for free as we speak. BUT...I can't stand opening every other post and seeing 500 posts by Amsoil Guy, and each one takes up half of a page. Just post like everyone else, why take up so much friggin room!!??

Well, ... 99% of the time I only post on lubrication or filtration threads unless I can add additional benefit such as answering the question: "Where is the best place to buy an owners manual?", etc., places where I can add real value.
Yes, some of my posts are long ... I try to explain my analysis and rational (viscosity differences, the role of motor oil, synthetic differences, etc.), so that the consumer can make an educated decision, and be knowledgeable going forward ... rather than just a yes / no / or 5w-30 is recommended, ..... and of course I like to post a product picture with details about the Amsoil product that I would recommend.

I have NEVER stated:
"Amsoil is the best, everything else sucks.
If you can refer to one occassion where I stated the above, I will send you a $100 bill.
I have on many occassions recommended "non-Amsoil" oil and filters for those on a budget, or for those who don't feel that there is no need for premium synthetic oils and filters.

the reason you thinks steven (amsoil) posts so much is the fact that eyeSHlT (eyetrip) who used to be a member of this site used to flame him hundreds of times which kept the amsoil near the top all the time.
now that eyetrip has been banished it don't happen like it used to.
