Has anyone tried the superchip programmer on theyre truck. Mine's a 97 with a 5.2 auto. Just wanted to know if it worth the bucks before spendin them.

i have just bought one. i have a 01 dakota r/t.
it made a big differnce in all rpm. i have not ran a whole tank of gas yet, but it seams like it helped fuel consumption also. My programer only works on trucks 98 and up, i am not sure if they make one for yor truck. if they do it is worth the money!

Just did the performance tune on my 00 5.9 RT RC. What a difference!!! Simple to use, options for wheels size, rev. limiter, shift points all very easy to use.

Save your money, buy the Mopar PCM. Unquantified gains such as 'big difference' and 'I think it helped' don't sell me on the thing.

Yes, i was going to get that Mopar PCM too , but the thing with that is they stopped making them after 2000. so 2001 up, theres no application, and yes its probly cheaper to have some place flash your stock computer, but for people with not to big of mods on there truck the programmer would be best for the time being.

Why do all the programmers say that it won't work on the 4.7L?? Does anyone know of a programmer that works on the 4.7L?? Thanks in advance!

No the tuner will not work on the 4.7. Superchips is suppossedly working on one for the 4.7 now.

Its because the 4.7 uses different ignition triggering.
