Message: Yeah, its to keep you from setting cruise and falling asleep or loosing awareness of your driving. I say WTF to the 115mph speed limiter! Thats a bigger issue than the cruise control, IMO. I've had my R/T just shifting into 4th at 110 before. safety implemetations Piss me off.

Message: The cruise limit isn't set in MPH it is set in KPH. The Max Cruise is set at 140 kph, so that when we move to metric we're one step ahead.

Message: Top speed limitter is based on the speed rating of the tires that came on the vehicle. As for the cruise speed, buy a brick and set it on the gas pedal!!!!

Message: The way that traffic counts are increasing ahead of road improvements, Texas may soon be the last state you can use cruise control!

Message: I think I remember an article stating that vehicles are limited based on the tires that were supplied by the factory. If you had high perf. tires on your truck straight from factory, you limiter will reflect their speed rating. If you bought crap tires and added high perfs afterwards your going to be stuck at 95mph to 100mph max. This may not be true, but I seem to recall reading something about that. Either way, those safety systems are there to make sure some chode doesn't blow apart a 90mph tire at 120mph and then sue the auto maker. You know people would do it if they could!
