Message: I agree, no. There's a web site that discusses this (bobistheoilguy.com?) and debunks their additives. FWTW.

I believe that you are requesting information on:
Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer
Lucas Quote: "Lucas Oil Stabilizer is a 100% petroleum product formulated to eliminate dry starts and reduce friction, heat and wear. It allows motor oils a higher degree of lubricity which reduces oil consumption and operating temperatures. Use Lucas Oil Stabilizer in gear oil to stop leaks, reduce operating temperatures and increase the life of the gear oil. Since it is pure petroleum, it can safely blend with all other automotive lubricants, even synthetics, ATF and mineral oil. It keeps old engines alive and new engines new."
Here is what I read from their brochure:
"It raises oil pressure, stops smoking, leaking, knocking and blow-by in worn engines. It also eliminates noise, overheating, leaks, and wear in gearboxes."
Quick glance to me describes this to be a product for owners that did not perform regular maintenance on their engines and gearboxes with quality products, or owners that used additives in the past ... thereby changing or adding to the delicate balance of the original formula of the motor oils used, upsetting and or negating the protective effect the motor oil formula was meant to achieve.

I would not recommend Lucas Stabalizer in a motor oil. Lucas ... in all their demonstration machines ... show how the oil will climb in that little gearwheel contraption (there is a neat demonstration on the site .bob recommended).
Yep ... Kinda neat, EXCEPT ... motors have an oil pump so why do you need an additive in a motor oil to help it climb? The oil has more than sufficient ability to get onto and into all parts of an engine. Second, you want the oil to flow ... and by increaseing the tackiness or stickiness to an oil (which is what Lucas promotes), it would reduce flow.
Your Engine needs ... Flow and Filtration ... Flow and Filtration.
