A basically stock (had a CAI) 4.7 rc 4x2 auto ran 15.8 in 1/4 at our dragway. My guess is you should be around 15.2, maybe 14.9's if you know how to drive. aka not spin

I definetly think my launch is weak to avoid spin.
What is the best way to get a good launch with an auto. So I can get no spin and get out of the hole quicker than I am.

well I went back out air temp now 68
did like 6 runs
Best was
0-60 6.9s
1/4 mile 15.4 @ (gtech 92mph) so about 90mph
that was the best I could do. This was without wheel spin and what I thought was a good launch.
Guess my 4.7L is just a runt.

Have you actually ran it at the track to see what your real time is instead of your G-tech time? Maybe that thing is just off.....you def outta run better than that with a standard cab truck.

seems slow, even for an auto.. my 5spd, with less mods, 3.92's runs a 14.9, only mods are a cat back, homebrew cold air, and manual fan off..

I even have the same tires..

one tip, if you go to teh track, lose the scorpions, those things are PIGS lol...

you also might wanna get some traction bars, cheap slapper bars are good enough

Well it seems to me my 4.7L is below par with it's mods, I am now wondering if it could have gotten that Death flash that is so dreaded, and I didn't know it. Is there any way to get the PCM # ran so I could know if it's threre and is my problem. Threre's no new update stickers on it only the ones that were there when I bought it.
Could they have forgotten the sticker

Ya envy....... 2000 dak quad cab auto,4.7, belltech 2/4 drop, boss 303 18's with dunlop sp 9000's, Kenne Bell charger at 6 psi.... 265 rwhp and 317 lbs/ft.... best time 14.7. MOST 4.7's do run 16's stock. Depending on altitude. At least that's what road and track got out of one in 2000.

Note you have a QC he has a RC. 100's and 100's of pounds of difference, hence my statement about his RC...sure a QC 4.7 runs around 16 flat but a regular cab is much closer to 15 flat. These are stock figures of course.

The article was an extended cab dak 4.7 5spd 2wdr.(this was in 2000). The quarter was 16.1. These were "professional" drivers that probably did multiple runs and published the best one. I'm not saying that's the best you'll get out of a 4.7 but hitting 14's stock..... not going to happen. unless 1000 ft under sea level. The difference of running 16 and running 15 is a lot more than a few hundered pounds!!! Anyone who races will attest to that. A rough "guide" is ABOUT a tenth per 100pounds...

Taken from an old post: "Motortrend clocked a quadcab with the auto 4.7 at 7.4 sec. 0-60 and 15.8 1/4 mile. It's in the may 2002 issue, pg.134 if you don't believe me."

I dunno, maybe the 2000 model was just a slug, but a an 02 QC hit 15.8, its not hard to imagine a RC hitting 15 flat. 800 lbs difference sounds bout right to me for the two models.

Sure...... do yourself a favour PMoo84. Take your truck to a track and find out. I can tell ya that the G-techs are pretty accurate and MOST 4.7's run low 16's..high 15's(stock) and mid to low 15's modded... depending on where you race (weather). Track proven.... I've seen it not just read about it........

well I think I found my Problem.......I was cleaning My engine bay and I noticed something odd My newly perfectly ported TB was not sitting right in it's place, Turns out when I was screwing it back in I miss threaded the bolt and thought it was done, So today as I notice it I fixed it and the hesitation I was having or seemed to have is gone, This is the first time I really felt the new cams since I did cams and TB the same day. WOW I feel dumb so went out with the GTECH again
temp 76
0-60 7.1s 1/4 mile 15.3
0-60 6.9 1/4 mile 15.0
0-60 7.0 1/4 mile 15.0
0-60 7.2 1/4 mile 15.5
This seems much better to me now I need to get a 180 T STat since things started getting real hot
