Subject: Antifreeze leaking from?

Hey everyone. I have antifreeze leaking slowly from somewhere however it leaks more when the engine is running and the fan kicks it up on the engine compartment. It appears to be coming from the underside of the waterpump i guess. It doesnt look like its coming from any of the hoses, but perhaps where the waterpump meets the engine block. I cant really see as the axle and radiator and fan are in the way. Do you think its time for a new waterpump or is there something else? Any suggestions? Im trying to do this myself maybe to save some cash, as i dont have alot right now. thanks.

You didn't say what year vehicle you have, but it might be the return hose that is underneath the bracket the A/C compressor is sitting on. There is a short (4-5") hose underneath it that could be causing your problem.

New Waterpump...

That fluid is coming from the seep hole that is built into the water pump to alert you when the seal has gone out. Kind of a nice feature if you ask me, at least it doesn't just go out and you end up blowing you engine without knowing anything is wrong. But if I were a bettin' man, I would say that is it.

Thanks you guys. I do have a 98, and it sounds very much like it could be that seep hole, i didnt realize it had one but sounds like a nice feature. Ill have to check that out, ive never replaced a waterpump..but im sure it cant be that hard.
