Hi, I have a 1997 4X4 Sport with a V6, I want a V8, dont care if its a 4.7 or a 5.2. I can get the motor, Trans, and Computer realy cheap. is this going to be a pain?

the motor mounts and tranny mounts would probably be easier going to a 5.2, since the 4.7 engine and tranny are a little different design. either way, its a big job, but it can be done. hell theres guys with viper v10s and 440s in dakotas.

the only pain would be the wiring harness..don't think you could easily adapt the v6 harness to the v8 computer..just a thought though. But heck go ahead and try it...nothing like experimenting for performance sake!!

I don't know if dodgeboy still uses this forum but he has done it. He swapped a 5.2 5 speed into a 97 v-6 auto truck. He only had to add two wires and change the comp. He said it wasn't that bad. You could try and reach him on one of the other forums.
