should i attempt to turn my exhaust into true dual using nothing but clamps and a tube of cold weld? the only part i need to redo is before the collecter to the mufflers so theres no bends anywhere.

Why not? Properly applied, the clamps work very well. I was looking under my '01 recently, and I noticed that the exhaust is clamped, not welded from the factory.
