Subject: Belt tensioner IP: Logged
Message: I just put on the 150 fan and at the same time I did the crank pullie and belt. Now I have been having problems with the belt screeching and when the fan kicks on I can watch the volt guage drop almost to twelve volts while sitting at idle. Now I went to autozone and had the alternator tested and it checked out fine, and its the 134Amp unit. So I am wondering if the tensioner is bad are there any ways to test it? Or is that ASP pullie too small for the job in wich case I need to put the stock one back on???? Please help thanks

Message: yea I took the part number to pep boys and they gave me the belt. Its a 6 rib instead of the 7 rib, the dam thing screeches like a chevy pos when I start it up after its been sitting. I am getting real frustrated and I dont know what I should do.

Message: double check the size belt they gave you or replace the tensioner. i've got a pulley on mine and have never had that problem.
