ok everybody with a 01-03 5.9 find the small hose that comes out of the front of the throttle body and follow it down the drivers side where it looks like it disappears under some more hoses. there it should join up with 2 more hoses on a plastic joint, keep following it to the mechanism just to the right of the joint. it's underneith the battery and the circuit box. the biggest diameter hose connected to that mechanism goes towards the front of the truck under the battery. thats the one i need.

Under the fuse box in your hood is the Tire. lol

If, there is something under the battery between the bumper and the plastic fender, it could be the carbon canistor. But, i'm not sure. Most vehicles that's where they are located either on the passenger side or driver side.

Ask the dealer where the carbon canistor is located on your truck. If, they say under the battery then you know.

I think that the rubber hoses connected to that pump are pretty standard. Take off the piece that you need to replace and have the size matched at any auto parts store. You can probably buy it for a lot less than $1.00 per foot.

If you want to spend more, go to the Dealer and have them sell you the OEM replacement....

why are you people acting like a leak dectection pump is a rare or unusual part? it's on the other end of the hose connected to the evap canister. it uses the hose connected to the throttle body for a vacuum.

maybe that's the part i need? my check engine light comes on if i just turn my key to teh "on" position, but goes away when i start the truck. it did this once before, but then the check engine light would just stay on during operation after about a week. i fixed it before by replacing a cracked hose.
