Subject: Do I have a tranny cooler? IP: Logged
Message: I have a '97 5.2L 4x4 with the towing package and am trying to determine if I have a tranny cooler, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Does anyone know if the factory offered one and where it would be mounted if I had it?
Thanks!

Message: It was offered, and usually cam as part of the tow package. Follow the trans fluid lines. They should lead to the radiator, out to a smaller radiator looking thing (that's the cooler) and then back to the trans. It's usually mounted in the very front, directly behind the grill.

Message: If you drive an automatic tranny, and the towing package,
then you got a tranny cooler, and an auto tranny

Message: Thanks guys, yep, I have one. It's a small radiator, about 1" square and maybe 7" long.
Seems kind of small to be effective. Maybe that'll have to be my next upgrade. Does anyone have a recommendation for an aftermarket model that will easily fit into its place?
Thanks!
