Message: I just bought one. I had been searching for one near me forever and finally found one 3 hours away. It is an '01 RC Sport 2wd 4.7 5 speed manual with high output manifold and cams, JBA ceramic coated headers and Flowmaster exhaust with a turndown pipe all already installed. He removed the easy stuff (z-tube, TB, etc.) At least he left me a few things to do to it. Oh, and it has the R/T suspension too.

Message: I found my 2001 4.7 5-speed RC 3 years ago on www.dodge.com by searching new dealer inventory in a 250 mile radius. It was only 100 miles away. But yeah, most dealers assume a 5-speed will be "dead inventory" and are afraid to stock even one.

Message: I had to special order my 5spd Man, 4.7L. There were no 2004, 4.7L, Manual, Reg cabs for sale in the united states on January 2004.
Off the floor they are very sluggish. Just as a warning if you do decide to special order.
Visit Http://www.reubengathright.com to read about what I did. I have not second guessed my decision yet!

Message: I have a 2000 4.7 w/72kmiles and this thing is badass. The only problem I have is with the ac. It seems to click on and off every five seconds and drops my rpm considerably for a second till it realizes its gonna stall. Is there a fix for this. I disconnected the pump and that works but now I'm hot. (personally.....not the truck temp, thats fine but no ac sucks.) Also, one of the forks went in the tranny while pulling out of a parking space in nyc. So after the half assed repair job, the guy left the tranny leaking.......so about 150miles later the entire tranny went because of no fluid. It might have been partially my fault for not acknowledging the fluid on the ground but I ended up towing it back to the repair guy for an entire new tranny. this took surprisingly no time at all to find a rebuild and install. Now I'm wonderindg if I can do a 5spd install into a 4.7 durango? Anyway, Ill ramble on later. for now I'm good with a cold intake, no muffler just pipe( still have cat but lost a little mid range) Thats a small price to pay for the attention the sound gets. plus I seem to have lost my mass air flow sensor but the truck runs just fine with the check engine light on. Any feedback on any aspect of my truck would be great.

Message: I ordered mine in 2001.
The only way to go!
If you're buying new, why 'settle' for what they have? If you can find what you want, i.e.-all options, ratios, tranny, engine, color, cab, etc., then thats great!

Message: As long as you want a reg cab they are pretty easy to find - both 318's and 4.7's.
I was looking for a CC 318 5 speed 2wd for about 3 months and ended up buying a '99 with an auto that was clean had the right miles and price and ran really strong.
