It is dependent on where you live. Some have reported no problems in cooler areas of the country using the stock fan only. However, I would not reccomend it. You will need to put a better electric fan in, like a BM150 or Viper fan. It will actually do a better job cooling your engine than the clutch fan, less noise and a slight gain in power and throttle response due to less overall drag on the engine.

2001 R/T, 180 thermo, FIPK, auxiliary tranny cooler, removed clucth fan in march, ran through Miami until end of may, then moved to Athens GA have never overheated once. its a decent mod, and reversible if you end up having heating problems. definitely reinstall if you do any towing.
