Subject: Fixing Shutter - Mild Acceleration IP: Logged
Message: What i have found out after a lot of research:
1. If you don't have a shifting problem then it's not your bands, don't need adjusting.
2. If you have a shudder during mild acceleration then it is probably your clutch slipping internally inside your transmission. It almost feels like the whole car is going to shake apart or a hop like up and down. The vibration will comes and go. It's a sign that your trans fluid is failing.
How to fix:
1. Get a filter for your trans
2. buy a bottle of Lubeguard Trans saver from Napa (Part No. 7652601). This stuff can be added to ATF+4. It's suppose to eliminate clutch slippage and Torque converter shudder. It's produced by International Lubricant. I called them to confirm.
3. Buy some ATF+4 from the thiefs over at Dodge. Price has come down since it was first introduced.
4. Unhook the battery terminals before you start your job. This will force the computer to be reprogrammed to the new fluids and friction modifiers.
I will confirm this technique within the next couple of days. If, everything goes well. It may be the next best thing to a BMW 745i. I mean it may be as smooth as a BMW 745i or maybe not. lol

Message: Ok, the Shudder problem is solved.
Here's how to go about solving it:
1. If, you have had your tires balanced and checked many times. It's probably not the tires.
2. Make sure all the suspension components are tight.
3. Make sure your U-Joints and Driveshaft are ok.
Now. Here's what you will feel when your transmission is shuddering. It almost feels like it's gonna shake your car apart when under mild to medium acceleration. you can really feel it in your a$$, your balls will shake too. The vibration comes and goes. It will occure during acceleration or deceleration. However, if you hold your right foot on the gas just right to relieve all stresses then it smoothens out. Otherwise, you will get a constant shimmy and shrudder during highway speed.
Now Things not to do:
1. Do not take it to an independent shop unless you know they are using ATF+3 or ATF+4. Usually they use Dextron or Mercon with an additive.
2. Use ATF+3. It just does not last. I changed mine once a year. So, go with ATF+4 it's synthetic or Amsoil. Heard people have had good luck with that.
If, you are going to do it your self, try the following steps in this order:
a. Disconnect the battery wait like 10 min. reconnect, then go drive it. If, the problem goes away, then you should be warned that the fluid needs to be changed soon.
b. If, there is no difference. Replaced the fluid with ATF+4 + the additive. And reset the computer. Then go out and drive that 50 miles. It will get better the more you drive.
