I have a 2001 dakota QC with the 5.9 and automatic trans in it, and I was amazed to find out how fast I could go without hitting the speed limiter I was on a country road and got it up to about 116 0r 117 before running out of road, and I know that alot of other vehicles out there can't go that fast without being modded from stock I was just wondering if anyone out there could let me know if this is normal?

Actually there are several different speeds the factory limited Dakotas to; depends on what you have.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Actually, if you turn the ignition key to the "start" position, it disables your speed limiter. Don't worry, you won't ruin your starter, if you're not in Park, Neutral or have the clutch pedal depressed, the starter doesn't engage. Have a long stretch of road, pay attention and watch out for the cops.
