Message: Just curious, but will the rear axle off of a 03-04 R/T fit/work on a 04 QC? And also are all R/T rear axle LSD? I've seen a couple of wrecked R/Ts and was thinking instead of opening my rearend, I could just buy a rear axle off of a wrecked R/T and not have to worry about labor with getting inside my axle. any thoughts, problems with this idea? Please let me know. Thanks. BTW of course I would do cost comparsions and the whole bit, such as the cost of an Auburn rearend with labor, verses get a "used" R/T rearend and labor...Just thoughts and wanted to know what everyone thinks about this idea. Message: To answer your question about the tags.
There are 2 metal tabs on the bolts that bolt the rear diff cover on. There are numbers on their.
One of the tag gives the rear diff ratio. However, i am uncertain about the other tag. You may get the readings off the tag and call the dodge parts department at your local dealer to find out that those numbers mean.

Message: The higher the numbers, the faster the engine will need to turn to do the same speed over the road, all others things considered equal: tires, trans.

Message: 3.55 : 1 ratio = 3.55 revs of the driveshaft to 1 rev of the axle.
3.92 : 1 ratio = 3.92 revs of the driveshaft to 1 rev of the axle.
so on and so on.
