Is there actually an alarm on the Dakota? I just wondered since the horn goes off once when you lock the doors. Its just seem like it would since most alarms sound once when you set them. If there is how is it set off?

Yea if equiped, lock it with the windows down and open it form the inside after like 5 minutes. If you have the alarm it will go off

It takes 5 min for the "Alarm" to sound?!
Damn ..... I could be MILES away by then ripping the truck apart :)

I dont have an alarm and mine beeps once when locking also.
You can turn this feature on/off and the instructions are in your manual.
This is under keyless entry functions.
