hey can you guys help me out? i know that some dakotas have trans problems. i have a 99 cc r/t, with 38,000 miles, last night the tranny wouldnt shift out of second, i pulled over, shut it off and started again. first gear wouldnt shift until 3500 rpms. then it was shifting at a higher rpm than normal. the check engine light is on now, i am taking it to the dealer tonite, i just wanted to tell them what to check before i get dicked around. thanks guys!

I just had my 97 v-6 dakota in for the same thing. It ended up being two solenoids and a transducer. (At least that is what they told me it was) Works great and shifts better than ever now. All for only $540 with the labor and tax.
