Kindof an open-ended question with no specifics ain't it?

First - don't know what a 92 trans am 5.7 will run, so cannot say. Are you talking stock vs stock?

Anyways, probably so if it's a stock R/T. An R/T will run mid/high 14's to low 15's, depending on if it's a RC or CC, and how good the driver is, etc. My SLT 5.2L running 15.8 (at that time) in the 1/4 easily beat a CC R/T by about 2 car lengths from 0-60, and was still pulling from him.

I had a 91 Trans Am GTA with a 5.7/AT. In the 1/8th mile it would run 9.90's. I have seen stock or nearly stock standard cab R/T's run these same numbers. I'd say it would be a close race stock vs stock. The biggest draw back of the GTA was the 3.08 rear end gear. When compared to the R/T's 3.92 the 3.08 is no amount of gear at all.
