Message: About a month ago my tranny started to act up shortly after a full tranny flush by the dealer. It has 91k miles on it and I was getting concerned about the idea of having to drop several grand to fix it. I went to a tranny shop that's one of the best (supposedly) in the state of Utah and they told me that my hydraulics are completely shot. With this news I went to my local dealer who has been nothing but good to me in the hopes of getting a different answer to my problems. So the other day it was acting up again and I had a tech drive it around with me for a few miles and it worked fine. He then plugged their diagnostic equipment to it and it brought up no error codes for both the engine and the tranny computer. He also had the machine do some funky stuff to the tranny I guess to "re-learn" the shift points or something??? They then asked me if it acted up more when it was cold or when it was warm (the truck that is) and I couldn't really give them an answer because it seemed to do it all the time regardless how long the truck was running. They wanted me to keep it overnight so they could drive it cold and even then, no problems. It now seems to run better since they plugged in the computer and ran some tests on it but it still doesn't seem totally right. I've outlined the problems in an earlier post but basically the shifts were harsh...mostly downshifting...and at times would feel like it was slipping. That's in a nutshell but it's a 2000 4.7 so if anyone has any thoughts let me know.

Message: My only thought,
is that I'm glad I ordered my 4.7, with the 5spd you have to shift yourself.
