Message: Hey fella Dakota owners. I own a 01 cc r/t with a airaid intake and flowmaster exaust. Thats it for under the engine. I have already done my exterior on my truck suspension and all that but am looking for more power but without losing reliability. Is a header and full exaust system a good idea and is spintech side exaust a good kit and if not what kit is. Thanx guys!

Message: The only way an exhaust system will gain you some power, is if it's a full header and dual exhaust system. That's pretty expensive horsepower.
Do you have a Hypertech? Best money I've ever spent on my truck.

Message: The next best-bang-for-buck mod you can do would be a Mopar PCM. Tad cheaper than headers, much more performance gain. I have a hyptertech (No Mopar PCM for my 97 Auto Federal) and quick-D intake on mine. The quick-d intake was a better upgrade than the hyptertech. Hypertech's are also known for pinging, even with running 93 octane. Still, mine ain't bad, but I'm going to get my PCM flashed when I get the funds and ditch the hypertech. From what I have heard (again, this is heresay), hypertech's are good for stock to mild mods, but once you get more bolt-on's, the hypertech doesn't help. I have a Quick-D CAI, M-1 intake Manifold, PP Headers, Gibson Catback, 1.7 rockers, hypertech PCM, Accel ignition system. Once I got my headers and manifold on, I am able to run 87 octane with no pinging whatsoever, not exactly sure why yet.

Message: I do not think the PCM is out yet for the 2001. If it is, get one. It will really help out the truck and you will get more hp/torque from future mods than you would without one.
I think you would get better numbers with an M1, 52mm TB and 1.7 RRs. Headers will get you some benefit, especially once you get more air flowing into the engine. Also consider underdrive pulleys, electric fan in place of the mechanical clutch fan and finally a supercharger.

Message: gs motorsports headers and true dual kit..
love it.
2001 and up R/T..most use BG flash.
50 or 52mm FB throttle body, m1 2bbl intake, are common.
