Message: In my 99 R/T, I use Amsoil. Quite a few people in my area use it in their vehicles and sware by it. These people aren't schmucks either. They are mechanics and people who were involved with racing since the muscle car craze of decades ago.
I see people saying they use Mobil 1 because Amsoil is overpriced. Interestingly though, in my area one local speed store sells Amsoil for the same price as Mobil 1 in regular stores. As a matter of fact, it is only a tad bit more expensive than walmart's price on Mobil 1.

Repeat ... I use Amsoil 100% TRUE Synthetic SAE 5w-30 Motor Oil ... only $4.55 qt. Amsoil Preferred Customer Price.
Compare that against RedLine, Royal Purple, etc.
IMHO ... We are not overpriced.
FYI ... Amsoil is even cheaper by the case, gallon, 30 gallon or 55 gallon drums!

Message: Just use a Mopar Oil Filter. I always use Mopar and for me it just seems to be the best, they are designed for Chryslers. If you really feel like you need to use something better, use the Mopar Performance filter. I agree with 00 RT/BC, the Amsoil guys are annoying as hell, espcially when they pretend to be just a regular person, giving a personal account of how great Amsoil is. I swear by Mobil 1, it's the factory fill for the Viper, and many other high performance cars. Even so, keep in mind that cars could run long lifes even before synthetic oil came around, like my friends 72 Dart 318 that still runs strong on it's original motor that is 32 years old with 112,000 miles and no rebuilds. He and nobody else has ever used synthetic oil, synthetic blend, or that high mileage crap in it, and he beats the hell out of it.

I never said he didn't have the right to be here, so read my post again, I merely stated I didn't like his brand of advertising and that is an opinion I am entitled to.
It's not just that though it is the countless Amsoil sites that proclaim to have information but are just further advertisements so no one can get any facts without being bombarded with hordes of useless details about buying 5 gallon drums of amsoil. It is unfortunate that the experience has soured me on a product that may well be a good one, although I'm sure it isn't much better than what I'm currently running.

Somebody starts an oil thread (amsoil or somebody else) and if the amsoil sponsor makes even one post it becomes a flame-a-thon and after a few days there are 1 post by amsoil and 99 by the flamers. Don't get pissed at the advertisers. Get pissed at the non-members, non-sponsors, non-advertisers.

Message:
Vehicles are required to use oils the meet API certification.
Amsoil meets and exceeds API specs.
All vehicle manufacturers in the U.S. have agreed that a warranty cannot be denied because a customer was using any particular brand of oil that meets specifications, unless an engine failure was directly attributable to the fluid. If it is not a fluid related failure, they cannot void the warranty. The law supports this position. Plus, the dealer/manufacturer has no way of telling what fluid you are using.
Amsoil meets and exceeds API specs.

amsoil does NOT meet API standards!
Nor could it get API certified!
amsoil COULD NOT get their oil API certified!
they had to cook up a whole new oil just to get ONE API certified!
ALL Royal Purple OILS (with exception to the race oils) ARE API CERTIFIED!
Race Oils do not need to be or get API certified.
You want to make a statement, get the facts straight.
