 Subject: 2003 DAK CC 4.7 questions

I'm new here. Have some questions about my DAK; it's a late '03 CC SLT+ Bright Silver 4.7L, 5-45RFE, 3:55 LSD, Towing Pack, exhaust is single cat 2.5". I special ordered the truck. I saw in the Dodge liturature that it's 230HP, while the QC & Ram's are 235HP. What's the difference & what is the comp. ratio on the 230HP engine? I think I saw in the same info that it was 8.8:1. Doesn't have a lot of low end torque and the tranny shifts pretty sloppy, especially on downshifts. Can you do anything to the trans to help? Would the 180* thermostat help? any comments would be appreciated.

not alot of low end torque? that sounds wierd coming from a 4.7. just curious what your previous vehicle was, ram v10 by any chance. i don't have all the answers but i think our computers reduce fuel or retard timing for a split instance before shifting. it makes for a longer lasting tranny if there are lots of wot runs because it's not shifting under load and shifts a little smoother (who needs that) some flashes of the computer can fix this but not all. jet chips does not. at part throttle my truck seems to have five shifts because of the torque converter. (four shifts, five ratios) chevys great at transmissions i gotta give them a 10 and our dodges maybe a 6 in comparision. quad cabs gotta move that extra weight but i don't know what the five hp diff is, sorry. well about our tranny i'd try a computer fix before i tried a shift kit. anyone else?

h.o. cams, custom flash, and 4.10 gears will get you more torque then u could handle and the flash should improve the tranny too

I have a 2002 with the 4.7, and I had a problem with the tranny, sometimes it wouldn't go in reverse. It happened once going from park, and once going from drive, and the dealer said it needed a flash. I brought it back to get the flash done, and they said that one of the pumps was bad. Might wanna take it to the dealer and bitch.
