Message: I have a 2002 dak and when i brake no matter how hard the truck shakes and rumbles. Just was wondering what might be the matter. I have 80k on the brakes but i don't believe that the brakepads are bad. I was thinking the disks but i don't know.

Message: You'de be surprised at how many things can cause these symptoms. And frequently, it's a little of this and a little of that, and you end up with a vibration.
Start at the outside of the vehcile, and work your way toward the center. Bent/loose wheel, warped rotor, worn R&P, ball joints, tie rod ends (inner and outer), etc. Check everything carefully.
Don't forget to check out the rear suspension, too. Loose/broken/worn parts back there can cause problems that you would be positive are in the front end.

Message: My '02 did the same thing when I would hit my brakes as you're describing dustified1234. Took it to a shop and turns out the rotors were warped. They resurfaced them and the truck stops fine now, with no shaking / vibrating.
