Subject: rear end noise IP: Logged
Message: my 01 quad cab has posi(or whatever the dodge guys call it)not limited slip with 3.55gears.when i turn,say im doing a 360 in a parking lot(not fast,nice and slow)my rearend will make a,kinda like a grinding noise,maybe like a metal to metal rubbing sound.forward and backwards both.anyone else have a similar sound?please lemme know cause im goin nuts with this prob.

Message: yep took it to dealer and they had to replace the thing. lucky for them it didnt lock up while I was driving home.

Message: changed fluid in rearend,added additive and it seems to be fine.prob wont know til she gets warm.although,it seems it was getting worse and making the noise all the time,ill feel better when shes hot and not making noise.

after i posted this note,i searched and found more comments on the prob.

Message: mine is doing the same thing, the noise is a rubbing, grinding noise at slow, tight turns and it's getting worse. sounds like a teeter totter cept really low pitched...
