Subject: running hot in the parking lot IP: Logged
Message: subject says it all.
My 99 5.2l 4x4 runs pretty hot when drivin through parking lots. I switched to a 180
and it only helped a lil. I guess i can kiss
droppin the clutch fan.
Maybe i should wire up a e-fan to help? I flushed out the coolant when i put in the 180
and a bunch of nasty shit came out.
Any suqestions?

Message: depending on how many miles you have.. might try replacing the water pump, or the radiator.. or both , what exactly does removing the clutch fan do?

They just started selling a viper fan kit with everything you need to install it. Probably one of the best options for the Magnum engines, and you get to ditch the clutch fan. Might be worth a look.
If you had a bunch of crud come out of your cooling system when you flushed it, you might want to do it again. If it was heavily corroded or contaminated it might take 2 or more flushes to completely clean the system. Might also mean that the radiator is clogged internally as well, which will hamper your cooling.

Message: my ac also gets warm when at a stop light. Going through a drive through it gets up to 260. I just replaced the power stearing pump, think the water pump could be bad?
it only has 63k miles on it. My old v6 98 with 100k had no problems with cooling and also the ac was ice cold all the time no matter if i was parked for hours.
How much for a water pump replacement?

Message: well i am away on bussiness now, but say when i get back and the fan is spinnin just fine, what should i look at next?
Could it be possible that my cooling system might be clogged? I flushed it all out, and let water run through the system for 2-3 minutes, then added all new coolant. I noticed when i flushed that rust/gunk was coming out.
But after 30 min of 4x4'n on some sugar sand and up some hills it started to BOIL OVER! steam and water/coolant was shootin out the fill resovor. And after it all cooled down i noticed that there wasn't a coolant reading on the coolant stick.
I am in need of some help, because i am broke now since the purchase of a supercharger and will be unable to take it to the dealer/stealership.
So any and all help is appreciated.
