Bosch oil filters are made by Champion (not
the spark plug people). The STP oil filter is
the same filter w/ different paint and less than
half the price of the Bosch. There two or three
other brands that are also made by Champion
that I can't remember.

Do an "oil filter" search and you'll learn way
more than you ever wanted to about oil filters.

FWIW I run Motorcraft FL-1A's on my 4.7.

Lemmers

Mobile 1 synthetic filter is also made by champion for mobile 1. The mobile 1 synthetic filter has a unique design and a fully synthetic filter medium. It is not the same as all the other champion filter but mobile 1 chose them to make the filter for them to their spec.'s that says alot about their quality.

My last three oil changes I used Bosch but no more. I have noticed that the anti-drain back valve is either missing or changed. It takes too long for the oil pressure to climb. I use Mobil1 5w30 in my '98 5.2.
Go here to find more info. I may change to the $11.99 Mobil1 filter. Don't like the price but I love my Dak more.

I totally agree with the Mobile 1 oil filter comment. It's the best bang for your buck for xxcellent filtration.
