i got a 1998 r/t 5.9 and when i hit the gas really hard my truck goes then hops back likes its missing a gear then goes again what could be wrong.

man, old thread! LOL.
is it bouncing off the rev limiter? mine used to do that all the time, and i never really found a fix for it. what i did find out, is that if i let off the gas(right before it shifted) and got back in it really quick then it would trip the limiter. i hope this helps. :)

Somthing is telling your Transmission to shift late may be a broken sencer somewere. I had a truck that did the same thing my speedometor cable broke and my transmission did not know when to shift.
