Subject: Tranny "chatter"? IP: Logged
Message: This might be nothin, but I thought I'd ask anyways. I have a '99 Durango 5.2L 4x4. I have this (best way I can describe it) "chatter" after I run the truck for a while, and/or run it hard a few times. When i come to stop, i can hear this chatter from underneith. When i apply the gas a little, it goes away. It doesn't make the noice all the time though. Could it be engine or tranny? maybe transfer case? It only has 70,000 miles on it, and it's going into the tranny shop this coming tues. for just a normal service and filter change. Thanks for your input guys.

Message: Yup, heat plates love to chatter. You'll hear it at idle.
