Subject: Mileage and trans lock up shutter? IP: Logged
Message: I got a new 2002 QC, 4WD, 4.7l V8, Multi Speed Auto trans. tow package
What kind of Mileage are others getting ?
I am getting 12 mpg local and 16.5 highway (70-75mph).
When does the mileage peak, I have 2k miles on it ???
Has anyone else experienced tran lock up shutter at around 40-45 mph ? Dealer tells me it is common and there are no TSBs on it.
thanks
Gary

Message: Haven't experienced a shutter but my avg. gas mileage per tank has remained a consistent 15-15.1 MPG according to the overhead computer and mechanical calculations. Can't complain.

Message: I have a 2002 CC part time 4x4 4.7L w/3.92's,
had it since Dec. and now have a little over 6,800 miles on it. 90 % of my driving is on the freeway and I average about 14-15 mpg.
About the trans shutter, mine does it too (most of the time)
I have a 5 yr 60,000 bumper-bumper and of corse the 7yr 100,000 mile drive-train warranty so I'll worry about it later if she breaks
