I took some of your advice (and some from other forums) and seem to be having some success. I noticed some gunk when I was checking out my oil so I did a round of engine flush/cleaner. One other thing I did was add a quart of Risoline and changed to 5w30 oil. I let it sit for about 5 hours (to get a cold start) before I tried starting it again to see if the tapping came back and it did not. Seems to be gone but it was a warm day today (high 40's low 50's) I will get a better idea of how it worked tomorrow morning and post again.
