Everybody keeps saying the 4.7 can not take nitrous or
higher cylider pressures for that matter because of
piston and ring design. I was just wondering how many
here have blown there 4.7 due to nitrous or s/c?

Right now im runing a 50 wet shot just using the wot
trigger and was thinking of adding a second stage of 50
triggered manually in 2nd gear around 3500-4000
rpms. Im pretty sure its not going to hurt it but im curious
how other people have done on or around that much
NO2.

there are people running 100hp shots out there. running a dual stage 50+50 should actually be better for the motor as cylinder pressure would grow more gradually.

at the cost of a dual shot, why not get a time based progressive controler from nos? there not very expensive.

Progressive controler would be cool but i have a bunch
of solonids, relays and extra lines laying around from
my firebird and other projects. All i need to get is some
extra jets and T fitting for fuel and nitrous. Im hoping to
do it for 30-40 bucks.
But if anybody knows of a blown 4.7 due to either
nitrous or s/c id like to know how they did it so i can
learn from their mistakes err misfortunes.

lol. I could deal with that. Then i could finally get that new hood ive been wanting. Did it just blow it open or did it blow clear off your truck. That just sounds hillarious. I cant imagine racing somebody and looking over to see their hood fly off. How much were you shooting? What Jet sizes?and were you combining with any other serious mods. sorry dont mean to laugh but i just think it would be funny to see

Go to www.domesticdisturbancela.com click on rides go down to no2 gone wrong that is my truck after we pushed the hood down about a foot. I had a 150 shot on it and it lasted 2 weeks until my friend sprayed it off the line and dropped below 3 grand. Cant be mad at him I told him to race the camaro in it because he shifts better than me.

looks like you had some serious fuel puddling to pull that one off.

Wow thats incredible. Ive seen some nitrous backfires on fox bodys and camaro's but nothing that devestating. How many times did you shoot that much and did it damage any internals.

I drove it for 2 weeks spraying it at every red light and any chance I got. The only reason it blew up is because it dropped below 3,000 rpms. It blew the plastic intake in a million pieces the little peice I found was about the size of a 1 dollar bill folded in half. It cracked 3 pistons and the throttle body was sitting between the headlight and the battery.

Man I have been running dry now for 3 bottles worth, using a .055 size nozzle in the Venom VCN-1000 kit, no problems at all, and that nozzle equates to like a 135 shot.
