I think this guy thinks just by adding the SS badge on the side of his truck, it makes it faster. The more stickers and badges you put on the truck does not subtract seconds from your 1/4 mile runs.

Dude, the Silverado SS is the biggest waste of money on a vehicle there is, other than an H-2. I've driven one before, and was NOT impressed. I can't wait to catch one at a stop light in my r/t. Talk about fun:)

Don't know how much a silverado weighs but isn't it a full size truck? I think the r/ts weigh about 4,000 right? That and what size engine is he runing in his SS, a 327? 350? (i think they also have a ls1 option or something). Out at the race track here we always have pit fights between the mopar guys and the chevy guys, yeah i race a chevy, but it gets towed by a mopar. Only reason i run a chevy is because they're cheap...emphisis on the cheap part (parts anyway). My .02 cents.

Smoked a chevy "SS" on my way home from work the other morning. Tried to scare me with his loud exhaust so I couldn't resist. Sorry, but a heavy full size can't compete with a lowered 2wd RC 4.7 5-speed full of performance mods. When I let up he was about 2-3 cars behind me. Some guys just haven't figured out this power-to-weight ratio thing yet.

The motor os a 6.1 liter. Basically a new version of a 383 stroker. A 2wd r/c silverado with the 6.1 is 1.3 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile. I have even seen one online somewhere that runs in the 10's with a 4x4. Probably spent much less on his truck, turbo, and all the other goodies to get him in the 10's than he would have spent on a 15 plus second ss!

The new SS's suck. They are so damn slow. I smoked one the other night on my way home from work in my sister's '99 Avenger ES. I was amazed actually, 'cause I think that car is a POS and slower than a 80yr old granny in a Buick. Had me off the line, but then after about 4 grand, i was gone. Anyways, that's my opinion of that stupid truck.

Back to reality here. I toasted a new Silverado SS last night in my club cab R/T. It wasn't pretty. I do give GM credit for the engine, but they just put it in the wrong application (like the up coming SRT-10 4 door), it would've been a better choice for the lighter, rear-drive SSR.

A twin turbo cobra come on man get real.you are talking about apple and oranges.i dont believe the cobra is a truck on top of that stock.racing a car and a truck isnt fair so why are you jumping on a truck with a twin turbo car.even putting a lighting against a Dak RT isnt a fair race.hp vs sc.how about a lighting vs SRT/10 truck?i do have a race car myself that has a 414 mopar engine but im not jumping on a STOCK RT.Thats like me at 32 years old beating up on a 12 year old.later

That has to be B.S.
First of all, a Cobra is supercharged from the factory.
No one with half a brain would remove the S/C and install twin turbos. If they had the ability of install twin turbos's I think they would buy a N/A GT or something to do that too.
