 Subject: Magnum V8 Emblem missing?

I just picked up a new 2002 Dakota Club Cab with a 4.7 V8 and noticed the only emblem was the Dakota SLT on the sides. Shouldn't there be a Magnum V8 on the sides as well? I'm afraid it will run slower without that emblem stuck on there ;)

DC dropped the V8/V6 badges in 2001.

I have a 2002 CC SLT plus 4.7 and also don't have the badges, but then again I really don't care. I like it better without them!!

Priced the chrome V8 badges on the Jeep 4.7, $30 a pop, kinda pricey, but nice. I have other sources, but they are undisclosed for originality...

My 2001 does not have the badging either. I kind of like it, it keeps people guessing what you have under the hood!

I know it's an old post, but someone else dragged it up here.
My '01 Dak V8 4.7 Magnum has the badges on both front driver and passenger sides. They weren't aftermarket, so did some come with them and some without for the '01?

I'm sure some came with them and some not when they were phased out in 2001.
I actually tried to remove my Magnum V8 badges. I had the passenger side one halfway off when I found that they are held in place utilizing two holes in each fender. So much for that idea, I guess. I got it back on like it should be with a little epoxy.
The idea of putting on the four cylinder badges is intriguing though. They would cover the holes too. lol

I have a 2000 Dakota,took my emblems off and put on gold ram head emblems in place to cover holes.

bought my 03 Quad cab new,4.7 5sp manual 2wd 3:92 lsd. my 00 reg cab had V8 emblems, 03 did not. dealer got them for me for free as part of the deal(they are generally in stock)in any case dealer cost is $12.00 a piece.
P.S truck now has 50k and just flunked safety inspection today.Upper ball joints of course!! no warning sings truck drives great, no clunking etc..inspector jacked up truck...pass side a little play,drivers side very bad.could not believe no warning signs. make sure your inspector checks ball joints. yes i have my 2wd recall letter going to dealer tomorrow. if i get any crap my next truck is toyota or honda.sorry DC.

My '03 4.7 liter has no badges on the fenders or the doors...just the big cheesy stick on lettering on the tailgate.

I could use all the help available. My dodge dakota was stolen from the front drive way of my house. It is a 98 dodge dakota white v8 4x4 extra cab. It has a spray in bed liner that is black. The rear slider window was broken out someone through a rock through it and it lodged in the heater vent and broke it out as well. Also the passenger side rear window was broke out so I put a piece of plexi glass to cover it. I hadn't had the truck long. It is my means of transportation to see my daughter and I desperatly need it returned. It was stolen from vancouver washington. If you have any info please leave message at 360-798-4371. The truck is loud as I was in the process of fixing the exhaust. Thank you for your help.
