I saw in jegs and on flowmasters website a new super 40 series muffler. Anybody have any info/stories/opinions/whatever on this muffler? It says it offers better performance over the original 40 series.

I just installed the Super 40 Flowmaster about 3 weeks ago.
I think it sounds much better than the regular 40 series muffler. It has a very deep quality sound to it (not raspy). Its fairly loud at low speeds but not bad and it is not so loud at highway speed.
I replaced my original Dynomax Ultra Flow and I didn't really notice any performance difference.
I have listened to a lot of other mufflers before I tried this one and none sounded better to me.
I think its the perfect sound. Bought it from Summit Racing for 80 some dollars delivered.

yes i had the original 40, and now the super 40, and the super 40 sounds much better... performance wise i feel no difference at all, but it sounds so much better

I am interested also, how do these sound compared to the old ones. I looked at their site, they seem to have that Delta flow stuff which I thought made it quiter?? Supposed to flow better though??? Anyone heard em in person??

I have the Delta Flow's on my Jeep with a big block and fenderwell headders and the sound isn't much diffrent than the motorhome with the regular 40 series. I was worried about the sound but they only offer the Delta in a center to center pattern also the performance gain over the crappy mufflers that came with the headders was great but a little less than the open headders
