Subject: EGR Valve Help IP: Logged
Message: I have a 94 318. It has been idling very rough, and when decelerating it hisitates and on occasion dies. No codes were showing up until today. Now it shows at 32, EGR valve. Anyone experience this problem? Where is the EGR valve located at. Not to familiar with my engine yet.

Message: I got that same code once, I belive It has Something to do with the Egr valve transducer, mine was diconnected somehow. Plugged it back in and was good to go. The Egr is on the passenger side of the rear or the engine next to the Distributor. The egr its self is bolted on the the intake manifold by 2 bolts and has has a brass looking air diaphram on it. Follow one of the vacuum hoses from it and it runs into the tranducer. It should have two vacuum lines and an electrical connector to it. Make sure this is plugged in. You may want to clean the egr valve with som carb cleaner (you will have to take it off and spray only the under side of it, take care not to clean the air diaphram). The valve itself should hold vacuum if vacuum is applied to it, (tranducer should be remove from the egr for this test). If ok and Egr plunger moves freely. Then check all the hose for the Egr system, if that ok,Then the Tranducer is the culprit.
