 Subject: 2001 4x4 quad cab 5.9

We just got our 2001 4x4 quad cab with a 5.9 with only 21k miles on it. We were told by the previous owners that it didn't get the best gas mileage, which I expected somewhere around 12 in town and 17 on the highway. Anyone out there got any better mileage or ideas on how to improve it? Thanks.

Do a search, you'll find more comments and information than you have time to read.
I have essentially the same truck; 12/17 is about right. If you want better, get a Geo. There just doesn't seem to be much room for improvement there.
