long story short, some kid said if we hooked up with a chain it would be pretty even, he has a 2 wheel drive s10 with a 4 banger, i have a dodge dakota 4x4 4.7 V8 3" body lift and 33x12.5 coopers with a 3.92 rearend (posi) i just laughed in his face. funny story thought you guys would get a chuckel

Note: Lowering the air pressure in your huge tires will give you an added advantage. :)

All these S10 guys just need to come to the realization that their trucks suck! My cousin has a big 2.2 S10 and if you have ever rode in one while its just pulling a trailer and 2 dirt bikes and there are big 18 wheelers passing you going up the mountian. Beleive me you will pull his a$$ all over the place.

I owned an "Extreme" S-10 a couple years back. It also had the 4 banger and 3.55's. Now I have a 4.7 Dak with 3.92 and 33's... there's NO comparison... you'll rip the axle of the S-10.
I say put some money on it AND video tape it so you can replay the part when you're dragging the the s-10 around!! hehe...

Sounds like this guy has the same mentality of someone who things shopping cart spoilers HELP their ricer.
WOrse. I even see them on trucks these days. Sad.
Just get him to do it. Video tape the thing. Get a friend to video without him knowing. That would be best.

i traded in my 2.2 s-10 for my dakota r/t only after 6 months of owning s-10. the value of the s-10 was only 11000. i paid 16000 for it.luckily i got $4500 rebate from dodge to soften the payment.

Have you ever seen two dogs F#@#G ?? and then they get stuck? the male dog is trying to pull away, and all he does is drag the bitch around, while she moans in pain, well thats whats gonna happend with that little S-10. Just make sure you put a thick chain, 'cause im sure itll rip from the torque, on your truck.

Not to rain on anyones parade but,
Two friends of mine one has a 99 dak 318 4x4 w/4"suspension and 3" body lift with 33" boggers. the other a stock 99 sonoma 4x4 V6. they hooked a chain together and the sonoma pulled the dakota 60 feet across the parking lot. The dak was spinning like crazy. both in 2wd.
But in this case we're talking about a 4banger

I have a buddy with a 2001 S-10 v-8. We have locked it up against my 98 Dakota(318 with K&N FIPK, AirRaid throttle body spacer, 180 Jet Stat, 31x11.5 BFG) and I pulled him all over. Even when he blew out both tie rods and the front end was pointing different directions I hooked onto the front and pulled him 7 miles home.

I guess it depends on the V8 in that little S10.
Usually if someone plants a V8 in a S10 it's NOT a pu$$y a$$ 305. It should be a resonably built 350 or similar.
Same thing as putting in a built 360 into a gen1 Dak. But it would probably handle like sh*t, be a rattle trap, and be tough to access spark plugs, etc.
The other day I was out 4 wheeling with my friend. He was in his Nissan Desert Runner which probably weighs close to a S10.
He couldn't make it back up some of the hills we went down. So I towed him back up a few.
One time I was at the top of one where I was leveled off. He was on a hill that his truck could NOT get back up. We hooked up the strap and mine actually pulled his truck up idling in 4LO. Yup. I didn't even touch my gas pedal!
He was on his gas a bit so I wasn't PULLING him completely at idle or anything. But it was funny that mine made that much of a difference just pulling at idle in 4LO.

ok so my brother is a Chevy guy, and i am a dodge
guy! he has a 1991 s10 with the v6. i had an 1988
dodge Dakota with the v6. we hooked up chains and
the extra weight from the Dakota being heavier alone
helped because the s10 was so light that i pulled
him with ease. we were both in 2wd also. the little
s10s are so light that the Dakota doesn't even give
them a chance! GOOD LUCK!!! cant wait to see video
